Joyce Tuten, a Clarksburg High School science teacher and NOAA trained climate education steward. She will give an overview of the science of global warming in lay terms and explain how climate change is impacting Maryland. Mike Tidwell, Director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network and Takoma Park resident. He will talk about what actions Montgomery County and Maryland are doing to combat climate change – and whether they go far enough to make a real difference. Dr. Edward Maibach, Director of the George Mason University Center for Climate Change Communication and a Potomac resident. He will explain the most effective ways to talk about climate change so others can understand.
