To close out March’s Women’s History Month in 2025, WDC would like to remember our Club’s first President, Barbara J. Pryor, who served from 1957-1959. She was an iconic Democratic activist, having worked on Adlai Stevenson’s presidential campaign, and later, helped to establish the WDC. Pryor was the mother of two daughters and one son, and a grandmother of five. She is pictured here at the age 18.

Born on July 31, 1916, Pryor died on May 18, 2010, in Kensington.
