WDC members are invited on a visit to the Montgomery County Safe Passage Center (SPC) on Friday, August 2 at 2:00 pm.

In 2014, Court Watch Montgomery (CWM) documented the need for a safe place to exchange children for visits and to conduct court-ordered supervised visitation where an abuser parent is under a no-contact domestic violence protective order. CWM partnered with WDC and other organizations to build community support for SPC and to ensure it was adequately funded. Those of you who participated in the postcard campaign to help establish the SPC may be especially interested in seeing the positive results of your activism.

With the opening of the Safe Passage Center in late 2017, every Montgomery County judge now has a secure, family-friendly visitation center that they can order couples to use to make sure that victims are protected from all contact with their abuser.
