WDC's biennial Tommy Raskin Memorial Speaker Series continues with Robyn Nietert, President of the Women's Microfinance Initiative (WMI), which promotes women's economic participation and carries the hope of prosperity to poor rural areas of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
Tommy Raskin entreated us to "look after the animals and the global poor." That's exactly what Robyn and WMI do. Join WDC and Tommy's dad, Congressman Jamie Raskin, on a lunchtime Zoom for a fascinating look at how WMI puts Tommy's values into practice every day by helping women increase their incomes by 100-400 percent during just the first six months of their loans.
We invite you to bring your lunch to this Zoom presentation. See what kind of lunch you can make for 45 cents or less...which is probably considerably more than the amount WMI loan recipients can spend on lunch prior to WMI's intervention.
