The Kirwan Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Education, in its Blueprint for Maryland's Future, has proposed a new education funding formula aimed at increasing equity and closing the achievement gap.

Kirwan Commission Chair William E. “ Brit” Kirwan will explain why these massive new investments are good and necessary for a strong future.

Delegate Anne R. Kaiser, Chair of the powerful Ways and Means Committee, will discuss how the Blueprint may fare in the legislature, as well as possible options for funding it.

Shebra L. Evans, president of the Montgomery County Board of Education and a former WDC Board member, will offer her thoughts on how the Blueprint may affect our schools.
