Montgomery County State's Attorney John McCarthy will join us on Dec.9 at 1 pm for a discussion of his office’s work to prosecute and prevent crime. A decades-long County resident and County prosecutor for more than 25 years, McCarthy has served in his current role since 2006. McCarthy has implemented newer approaches such as drug and mental health courts and gang prevention strategies for youth and seeks to adapt to the county’s changing demographics and law enforcement challenges. His honors include election to the American College of Lawyers, the highest honor a U.S. trial lawyer can receive; the Youth Coaching Hall of fame in 2007; and the J. Joseph Curran Award for Public Service in 2010.
