WDC Education Committee | “Heather Booth Changing the World” Screening Emphasizes Importance of Political Organizing

On May 30, 2018, WDC hosted lifelong activist Heather Booth and screened a new film about her life, “Heather Booth: Changing the World.” The event was led by Education Co-Chair, Brenda Wolff; attendees included WDC members and their guests, Democracy Summer fellows, and community members.

Heather is a rock star in the political community as a champion for critical issues in our society. She has been an organizer for over forty years, starting in the civil rights and women's movements and continuing today.

During the 2018 Maryland State legislative session, WDC submitted testimony on twenty-five bills related to WDC’s priority issue areas that also met WDC’s endorsement criteria. WDC monitored the status of another twelve bills but did not submit testimony. Thirteen bills were passed by the State legislature and enacted into law.

Mr. Corn is the co-author, with investigative journalist Michael Isikoff, of the best-selling book Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump.
